What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a collagen induction treatment. Tiny needles cause mini punctures to the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body's repair mechanism: collagen and elastin production and increase blood flow to the face.
Minimal downtime. You may be red for a few hours afterward, similar to a sunburn; the following day, minimal redness.
Improvement after only a single session and results are cumulative. Recommended treatment frequency is 4-6 sessions.
Microneedling is used to treat a variety of skin conditions that cause depressions in the skin such as acne scarring, surgical scars, other scars, burns, enlarged pores, wrinkles (rhytides), and stretch marks (striae). (The procedure is less effective on deep, narrow “ice-pick” acne scars than on broader ones.)-https://www.yalemedicine.org/conditions/microneedling

What does a microneedling session look like in the Chadds Ford, PA clinic
Preparation for a microneedling session:
Please stop use of fillers, botox, and other skin treatments for ten days prior to your appointment( although these injection treatments are fine after microneedling). No retinol products 48 hours prior to appointment.
Included in your microneedling session:
Your session will last 1.5 hours. Before your session, I will discuss your goals, medical history and develop a treatment plan for you. The microneedling session includes a complete acupuncture treatment based on pulse diagnosis. The microneedling will take about 30 minutes. Afterward, you will receive a red light therapy treatment to enhance results.
After your microneedling treatment
Redness is typical post treatment, the next day is minimal. Please avoid the sun, no sunscreen for 24 hrs, makeup 12hrs. Improvements in your skin start to show after a week and will continue to improve.
How many treatments will I need??
4-6 sessions are recommended for best results after one treatment; the results are excellent! Microneedling (90 min) sessions per month (4-6 weeks between sessions) is recommended. While one single treatment yields great results, lasting results are more likely to occur in a series of 4-6 treatments. Treatment frequency is one treatment once a month (or 4/6 weeks), with years between appointments. A holistic treatment plan is designed per individual patient to create a customized protocol.
